About the CloudStore

What is the CloudStore?

Government has been working to make the purchasing of public sector ICT as simple and transparent as possible. The result is the CloudStore.
The CloudStore is a new way for Government to buy IT products and services. It is an online catalogue of information and communications services available to the UK public sector, and contains details of each of the suppliers and their services. You can use the CloudStore to select the services that best suit your needs.
All the services listed on the CloudStore are part of the G-Cloud framework so are immediately available for the public sector to procure and use (subject to their accreditation where appropriate).
This is the first of its kind in the UK for public sector ICT procurement, and we are committed to ensuring that this method of buying ICT goods and services is efficient and fit for purpose. The CloudStore is an iterative product and we’re asking for your feedback so we can add to and improve it.
For buyers this means this approach means that they:
  • don’t need to go through time and expense by issuing OJEUs (http://www.ojec.com/)
  • have the assurance that every product and service in the catalogue as been accredited to Government standards.
  • will always use suppliers that are approved by Government as being agile, efficient and offering value for money.
  • can find low cost and high quality solutions simply.

If you’re a supplier keen to join the CloudStore then keep looking out on our blogsite for when the procurement is open  again and  stay up-to-date with what’s happening by following us on twitter @G_Cloud_UK or on the  blog. Also make sure you have a look at how to apply.

The CloudStore is an iterative product and we’re asking for your feedback so we can add to and improve it so please let us know either through the site or via twitter.

Accreditation – to be aware

We are gradually working through accrediting the products you see in the CloudStore and so some will not yet been accredited.

The next stage will be to accredit some of the products in line with CESG guidance on information assurance. This means that once products have been accredited, Government buyers will be able to use them straight off the shelf without having to go through the accreditation process again. There will be products available up to IL3.

If you want to use a particular product now and you need it to be accredited, get in touch with us and we’ll be able to tell you its status.
