CloudStore Open for Business

Following Cabinet Office’s press statement at 9:30 on Sunday 19th Feb, we are proud to announce that the CloudStore is now live and ready for action!

The CloudStore has been built by UK SME Solidsoft who have been working closely with the G-Cloud programme over the last 4 weeks or so to build this first iteration. Yes, it is hosted in the cloud – it’s on Microsoft Azure! So, we are now looking to our users to feedback on what works well or what needs improving so that we can continue to develop the CloudStore.  We hope that this site will help us to make the big step change in the way that suppliers and buyers do business on ICT services in the public sector.

The full selection of over 1700 services that have come through the G-Cloud framework are now available for everyone to see in a user friendly and easily searchable catalogue*. So head on over to the www.gov.uk/cloudstore and have a look around, but please remember to tell us what you think by using the site’s feedback functionality – your comments will help shape future iterations of the CloudStore!

Nice to see the CloudStore open for business. Be interested to know what the plans there are in terms of making public the amount of business going through it. I appreciate that they may be some commercial considerations, but I would really love a blog discussing your thinking on this issue and what you plan to do. Many thanks.

  2. Looks like a great start. Where can we find information about the framework? I would also like to know how we can register in order that our business messaging platform, ‘Connect‘, can be offered via this marketplace.

I’m afraid your too late for this framework but version 2 is planned for April – watch this site and @G_Cloud_UK for info

    Hello

Could you let me know which of the suppliers to Gcloud can supply private clouds with capability / experience of offering a Restricted BIL3 tier or service ? Or perhaps BIL3 virtual machines on unclassified hosting infrastructure ?

    Kind Regards

    Richard Jackson

  4. It’s good to see the UK Government leading the world in the ICT forum. We at Lottery UK think that many people in the United Kingdom take our country’s fantastic range of ICT offerings for granted with many believing that we are far behind some of our overseas contemporaries. Can’t wait to see where CloudStore goes in the future and to see the UK leading the way with cloud computing.

  5. Great initiative. Where can we apply to bring our 100% renewable energy powered public compute cloud, GreenQloud, to the market?

    • Chris Chant says:

See above, you’ll have to wait till April I’m afraid

      • That’s not too bad, April is just around the corner. Is there any better way than to monitor a blog post to get the call for registration? I don’t want to miss the next batch.

Also where can I see the requirements for entry?

        cheers
        Eirikur, CEO GreenQloud

The OJEU will be posted as normal (the formal route), in addition details it will be tweeted via @G_Cloud_UK and a notification posted on http://www.buyingsolutions.gov.uk/
Unfortunately we cannot push out notifications to individual organisations as it could be seen as unfair to any supplier not included.
